For many people, life feels more demanding and harder to switch off from. Therapy can be one of the few places to slow down, think clearly, and feel understood. That makes the work therapists do more important than ever.
At the same time, therapists are carrying far more than direct patient care. They prepare for sessions, document what happened, keep track of patient history, manage schedules, and handle the administrative work that comes with running a practice. Too much of that work competes for the same attention they want to give their patients.
We started by speaking with dozens of therapists across different practices and approaches. Again and again, we heard how much time was being lost to documentation, fragmented systems, preparation, and work that followed them beyond the clinical day. The systems around care were asking too much from the people providing it.
Underline Health was built from that understanding. We are not therapists, and we do not believe technology should tell therapists how to practice. We came to this as people who have needed help ourselves and who understand how much the quality of that relationship can matter.
Our role is to build better infrastructure around that relationship. Technology that takes on more of the work around care, gives therapists more room to think and prepare, and keeps clinical judgment and human connection where they belong, with the therapist.
